Tool Changing for Bus Communication Systems.

Problem defined.

For a flexible and efficient work cycle, the robot needs to reliably change between a DeviceNetâ„¢ servo-powered spot weld gun and a DeviceNet servo-powered material handling fixture.

Solution in reach.

Applied Robotics’ Sigma 3.1 and Sigma 5.1 tool changers allow a robot to change tooling and automatically connect bus communications, which include DeviceNet, Profibus and Interbus (copper wire and fiberglass).
