Applied Robotics joins the Monsters of Metal....

 Metal Finishing.....that is!

Applied Robotics brings their solutions to the Metal Finishing market with a
new line of application specific tooling. The first offering is a pneumatically
driven Belt Tool that is reversible and features an integrated Compliancy Device.

Glenville, New York — January 15, 2010 – Applied Robotics, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of robotic end-of-arm tooling and connectivity solutions, now brings their well known innovation to the metal finishing and deburring world. Today Applied Robotics, Inc. announced the debut of their new Reversible Belt Tool, adding a new line of metal finishing tools to their arsenal of products and solutions, bringing flexibility and ease of integration to yet another manufacturing segment.

The Belt Tool is a precision tool assembly designed to be mounted on a robotic Tool Changer or directly on a robotic arm. It can also be used in a stationary manner. As the final quality of similar parts is very much dependent on the surface finishing of the parts, the tooling and process used to finish that part is crucial. The Reversible Belt Tool enables fine finishing of high value parts having many contours and complex geometry. The Tool offers a quick change of belt media, from grinding to polishing for example, by the simple replacement of the reversible belt.

“We know when we look to build a solution for an application; we really look to bring something innovative to the market. We’ve been finding success in the food processing and packaging industries with our High SpeedSingulator and USDA Meat Gripper, and now with our new Reversible Belt Tool, we have something unique to offer metal finishing customers,” said Cliff Annis, president of Applied Robotics. "The reversibility of the Belt Tool makes it distinctive and combined with the accompanying compliance device the unit saves processing time and effort. It really is plug and play. We look forward to bringing other such products to this growing market."
